We are accepting donations of books, CDs, and movies for the Book & Media Sale. Please place your donations in the Fellowship Hall. We will accept book donations through Friday, 5/10.

We will place a scrip card order on Sunday, 5/5. These cards will arrive by Thursday, 5/9. If you are ordering a card as a Mother’s Day  gift, you can pick the cards up from Rachel prior to Sunday, 5/11. Order forms are in the back of the church or email Rachel (rwalker@ccs.ua.edu) for a form.

Sunday’s May 5th worship service provides UPC worshipers with the language and experience of the weekly Sunday Service of Holy Communion at Iona Abbey, a place visited by thousands from around the world. The Iona Community has developed worship material drawing from both ancient patterns and modern world settings.  The sermon title comes from a book by the same title, “Christ of the Celts” by J. Philip Newell, as I share with you my appreciation for and understanding of this early Celtic Christian story.

Next Sunday May 12th we will welcome back Thomas Herwig to the pulpit as our guest preacher!

This Sunday Nawar Ahmed is leading the study lesson about his home country, Egypt.

Last Thursday Leslie Poss received the Theatre Artist Award presented as part of the annual Druid Arts Awards by the Arts Council of Tuscaloosa. The awards are presented to distinguished artists, educators, volunteers and patrons of the arts of the community.
