“SUMMER SOUNDS AT UPC” The congregation is invited to bring a covered dish for lunch following next Sunday’s worship service. At 2:00 Scott O’Toole will present a free percussion concert. Scott will premiere works for marimba and vibraphone.
BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES There are two ways to assist: 1) UPC is collecting school supplies for Arcadia Elementary’s 1st grade classes. A list of needed supplies is posted on the church bulletin board. Supplies should be brought to the church by August 3rd. For more information contact Elizabeth Hollingsworth, email@example.com. 2) Tuscaloosa’s One Place is holding the “Apples for Education” Campaign at the University Mall, in the Center Court, from July 11th- July 27th. The campaign allows donors to either donate one dollar (going toward the purchase of school supplies) – represented by a ‘Green Apple’, or purchase a backpack with supplies for a student – represented by a ‘Red Apple’. Tuscaloosa’s One Place needs volunteers to work at the tables in the mall. Volunteers will be responsible for distributing red apples, taking in supplies, and collecting money for the green apples. CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CONTINUES! Each Sunday of July they will have their own version of Hollywood & Divine, with short videos (such as VeggieTales), Bible stories, and crafts!Nursery care is available throughout the summer.
HOLLYWOOD & DIVINE All adults are invited to the final two sessions, July 20th, the featured film is “Invictus” and the topic is Forgiving our Enemies. July 27th,the featured film is “Chocolat.” The topic is Receiving Forgiveness. We will meet @ 9:45 in the Student Center.

THE MAIN EVENT: (August 15 &16, Independent Presbyterian, Birmingham) is a gathering of Presbyterians from across Central and North AL to learn about mission, congregational care, Bible, theology, polity, Christian education, worship, music, older adults and spirituality. The Keynote speaker is Dr. Elizabeth Caldwell of McCormick Seminary. Friday night activities begin at 6 p.m. with vespers and include dinner.
